Pretty productive!

I didn't blog last month (I think it's called laziness :-) and it was really time for an update!  So here we go!

Goal 10  -  Completed

This wasn't a very dificult goal, I am not so sure if that's a good thing though!
Anyway, below are the 10 things I don't like about myself and the challenge is now going to be to be more aware of that and try to change some of the things I don't really like!
1. My indecisiveness.
2. My lack of self discipline.
3. My weight.
4. My lack of self confidence.
5. That when I am moody I take it out on others.
6. My negativity sometimes.
7. My constant worrying about stuff.
8. That I don't contact my family as often as I should.
9. Not pushing myself hard enough at times.
10. Putting myself down towards others.

Goal 20  -  Completed

Now this one is a bit more fun :-) I got to write down 25 things that make me happy!  They are in no particular order and I could probably write another 100 so I haven't included everything!
1. Being with and around Neil.
2. A romantic dinner at home or in a restaurant.
3. Spending quality time with friends.
4. Seeing my family on the webcam.
5. Reading a book.
6. A good cappuccino in the morning.
7. Travelling.
8. Feeling good about myself.
9. Laughing.
10. A good conversation.
11. Ice-cream ;-)
12. accomplishing something.
13. Making lists.
14. A hot shower after a great workout at the gym.
15. Playing 500s.
16. Seeing someone's face after you give them a gift.
17. Surprising someone and being surprised.
18. Planning something special.
19. Daydreaming.
20. A lazy afternoon at home with Neil.
21. Summer/Sunshine.
22. The feeling you get when you see someone you haven't seen in a long time.
23. Playing with our cats.
24. Our beautiful home.
25. Completing jigsaw puzzles.

Goal 57-59-61  -  completed

These 3 goals were completed in the same weekend! We went on a 4 day getaway to Margaret River and yes... it was very romantic! We actually saw the sunset twice together but the sunrises were a bit to early for our liking...
As for goal 59, I didn't actually give Neil a list of the things I like about him but I wrote it in his birthday card.  He looked at me funny and I had to convince him I was right...

Goal 66  -  Completed

This one is VERY exciting!! After 2 months of testing and many moments of nervousness and anxiety I finally got the call last Friday.  I've been selected to become a Juvenile Custodial Officer for the Department of Corrective Services!  On the 28th of September I will start a 3 months course at the academy and after that I will either work at Rangeview Remand Centre or Banksia Hill Juvenile Prison!!  After 6 years I am finally going back to where my heart belongs!!!  I am very excited and I can't wait to start learning!!

Goal 85  -  Completed

I went to the "we are what we do website" and picked 25 things to do for the environment.  Some were easy as I do them already and others were conscious decisions. They were small tasks like turning off the tap when you're brushing your teeth to shop locally. I enjoyed it and I go back to the website regularly now to do other tasks!

One month completed!!

Even though I've been overseas I still thought of my goals and started a fair few!! I'll go into a couple of them:

Goal 7  -  In Progress

I have inspired the first person to do this project as well!  Miranda Schrijver has also started and is blogging her progress on the following website:  http://mschrijver.wordpress.com

Goal 34  -  Completed

I met up with not 1 but 2 people I hadn't seen in 2 years.  The first person was Patrick, my old boss from the adult prison in the Netherlands.
The other person is Karin, my old colleague from the Youth Prison in the Netherlands.
I had a great time catching up with both of them!!

Goal 38  -  In Progress

This goal is one of the easiest in the bunch... in fact I've read not 2 but 6 books this month.

Goal 44  -  In Progress

The good thing about flying is that you have an inflight entertainment system.  I was able to watch 4 movies:
I - Invictus
K - Komt een vrouw bij de doktor (Dutch movie)
L - Leap year
T - The Blind side

Now I only have the rest of the alphabet to go ;-)

Goal 83  -  In Progress

I ordered "Wreck This Journal" online and it arrived 1 day before I left for The Netherlands.  I decided to take it with me but to not really do anything with it yet.  But I can't wait to get into it!  One of the tasks is to take a shower with the journal which I will do soon... hihihi

The following goals are also in progress:

Goal 2 - Donate $3 for every completed goal into my piggy bank (3/101).
Goal 5 - Blog my progress of this project and include photos of at least 50 goals (4/50).
Goal 7 - Inspire at least 3 other people to do this project as well (1/3).
Goal 11 - Get to my goal weight.
Goal 12 - Have one day every month where I don’t complain about anything (1/33).
Goal 25 - Send my grandparents a card every month (1/33).
Goal 46 - Drink 25 different types of tea (3/25).
Goal 54 - Do a random, fun activity together once a month (1/33).
Goal 60 - Write a little message to Neil and leave it for him at home once a month (1/33).
Goal 64 - Get a volunteer job.
Goal 75 - Send a handwritten card once a month to a friend or relative (1/33).
Goal 86 - Earn 500.000 grains of rice on freerice.com (12030/500.000).
Goal 92 - Keep my houseplants alive.

My first day!

I know that it's only been one day and I don't have that much exciting stuff to tell you yet.  But to start off right I thought I might as well blog my first update!

Goal 1  -  Completed

My first goal wasn't that difficult and to be honest I might have cheated a bit... I got this piggy bank from my cousine about 1,5 years ago and thought I might as well use it for this! So there you go!

Goal 6  -  Completed

This goals wasn't too challenging either.  I printed out my goals list and hung it up on our bedroom door! No escaping it now!!!

Goal 64  -  In progress

This goal is actually quite exciting.  Last night I went to an information session with LifeLine WA on how to become an Accredited Telephone Counseller with them.  It is a 1,5 year process and I am really interested in doing this.  It is a big commitment so I am going to think about it for a while and I am also waiting what kind of job I'll be able to get and when.  It would be a bit full on to start a new job & this course at the same time!  But... it is in progress!!

The following goals are also in progress:
Goal 2 - Donate $3 for every completed goal into my piggy bank (1/101).
Goal 5 - Blog my progress of this project and include photos of at least 50 goals (2/50).
Goal 11 - Get to my goal weight.
Goal 38 - Read at least 2 books a month (0/33).
Goal 86 - Earn 500.000 grains of rice on freerice.com (6000/500.000)
Goal 92 - Keep my houseplants alive.

I think I am on the right path here!!

101 goals in 1001 days!

I recently read about a project called "Day Zero". I loved the idea of it and decided I should do it.  My problem is that I never really finish anything.  Hopefully this project will motivate me and keep me focussed on completing goals!  One of my goals is to keep you up to date of how things go so I will blog my progress as many times as I can!!

The Mission:
Complete 101 goals in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Goals must be specific with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Goals must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
